なぜこの答えになるのか

What's the best way to 〜? は「〜する一番よい方法は何か」と手段を尋ねる表現です。したがって正解(A) You could take the subway. It's quick.（地下鉄がいいですよ、速いので）のように、交通手段を挙げて答えるのが自然になります。You could 〜 は「〜するといいですよ」という控えめな助言の言い方で、押しつけがましくならないため実務でもよく使います。What で始まる質問は答えの幅が広いので、What のあとに続く名詞や to不定詞まで聞き取ることが大切です。ここでは way to get to 〜（〜への行き方）なので、答えるべきは方法や手段だと決まります。

ほかの選択肢がなぜ違うのか

• BThe convention was very informative.（その会議はとても勉強になりました）は、convention center から convention を取り出した語の反復です。過去の会議の感想であって、行き方には答えていません。
• CAbout twenty minutes from here.（ここから20分ほどです）は所要時間の答えです。How long does it take? への応答であり、手段を聞かれた質問とはずれています。もっともらしく聞こえるだけに紛らわしい選択肢です。
